Intuitive Thinking Skills
Intuitive Thinking Skills provide mentoring and courses designed and delivered by people with rich lived experience who have overcome their problems, using acquired skills properly directed.
📢🤝We have been proudly working with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust delivering our accredited programmes across four prisons in the North West – HMP Styal, HMP Thorn Cross, HMP Risley and HMP Forest Bank.We have been working with people to address challenges such as drugs and alcohol, mental health and aggressive behaviour and have made a meaningful impact on the lives of those we have worked with.Currently, our dedicated team consists of two staff members actively delivering our courses, and we’re excited to welcome a new member to the team!✨As part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and support, we are also launching an Ambassador Programme in the prisons. This initiative will engage individuals serving life sentences to explore the opportunities they believe would have been beneficial at the start of their sentence. Additionally, we’ll be raising awareness on important topics such as menopause, with plans to include more in the future.🔊 “The service has been extremely well received, with a waiting list of 260 people. Demand is particularly high at Risley and Styal prisons, highlighting the popularity and effectiveness of our programmes. We’ve collaborated with GMMH to develop an app that allows prisoners to self-refer to our programmes, enhancing accessibility. We’ve also tailored our approach to specific wings, targeting areas based on the nature of offences. For instance, we’ve been invited to support the Young Offenders wing, which has experienced a surge in violence” - George Thornton, North West Custodial Health & Wellbeing Manager👏🌱We are proud of the work we are doing alongside GMMH and the positive change being made in the prisons. We look forward to supporting more people on their journey towards rehabilitation.See the stats from our work below:
Meet Victoria, our Team Manager for the North East! 🌟🔘Victoria’s story began 33 years ago. At 15, she entered her first relationship, which marked the start of several abusive and toxic relationships. By the end of that relationship, she was taking numerous anti-depressants and frequently binge drinking and fighting, feeling a day wasn't complete without an argument. 🔘At 20, she met the father of her children and believed she had found true love, prompting her to stop drinking. However, tragedy struck when her brother died suddenly four weeks after the birth of her daughter, at 21. Despite the urge to revert to old habits, her maternal instincts prevailed.🔘Her relationship then took a turn for the worse with extreme emotional and financial abuse, lasting 10 years. After leaving that relationship, she quickly entered another where she faced gaslighting and control, including being moved away from her family and manipulated into staying home.🔘A change in mindset led her to realise that nothing would improve unless she left. She got a job, saved for a car, and asked her partner to leave, which she describes as the best decision of her life. She began adopting healthy habits to manage her emotions and hasn't looked back since.
📢Empowering Young People across Wales! We are currently delivering our structured mentoring sessions and accredited Critical Thinking Skills programme to students at risk of exclusion across Gwynedd and Anglesey. Our support provides learners with the tools to challenge their limiting beliefs, explore their values and develop strategies for positive change, focusing on problem solving, decision making and self-reflection. So far, we’ve engaged 22 students across the programmes and mentoring with 16 students having already gained an NOCN accreditation!👏 🧠 Throughout the sessions, students develop a deep awareness of how their belief systems influence their behaviour. We guide them in constructively challenging any negative beliefs that may be holding them back and explore their values, attitudes, and motivations, learning how to set meaningful goals and maintain motivation to achieve them. We’re proud to be empowering these young minds and equipping them with the skills and confidence to be successful in achieving their goals 🌍🎓#Empowerment #YoungPeople #PeersupportRead some of the feedback we’ve received from our learners: Read some of the feedback we’ve received from our learners:
