An accredited lived-experience training course providing people with the knowledge and support to give back to their peers and communities

Our accredited peer-mentoring training provides you with a route to utilise your lived experience to be able to give something back to your peers and community. Our Accredited Peer-Mentoring Training offers the perfect solution for training and supporting you with developing the skills, knowledge, and qualifications required to use your unique perspective and insights to co-design service improvements, as well as, being a positive role model and inspiring others to overcome their personal barriers and become independent from endless support. 

We have two options depending on your specific lived experience

For Drugs & Alcohol, Mental Health, Entrenched Unemployment and Criminal, Justice, the Introductory Level 1 Award in Information, Advice and Guidance would be most appropriate

  • Learn how to harness your lived experience to address attitudinal and behavioural barriers and embed into a package of information, advice and guidance support.

For lived experience of involvement with Criminal Justice processes, the Level 2 Mckenzie Friend Information Advice

  • Learn how to harness your lived experience to support a victim of crime through the criminal justice system, from Police Interviews through to court proceedings.
  • This is the ONLY available Mckenzie friend accreditation in the UK

Both qualifications are beneficial for you, they are nationally recognised by employers and increase your chances of securing employment by enhancing your CV!

The Accredited Peer-Mentoring Training will deliver:

NOCN Level 1 Introductory Award in Delivering Information, Advice or Guidance to Service Users

or

NOCN Level 2 Award in McKenzie Friends

as well as:

  • Level 3 Education and Training
  • Safeguarding Training
  • Enhanced DBS Check
